Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the FreeQuit app. Please take your time to read them.

1. Scope

These terms of use apply to your use of the FreeQuit mobile app, between you and Leiter Sales und Invest GmbH. Our privacy policy applies in addition.

3. Eligibility

FreeQuit is intended exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Before you begin, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you state that you are younger, you cannot use the app; we then ask you no questions about habits or health and create no records.

4. Account

An account is required to use the app. You provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. An account is personal and not intended to be shared with others.

5. What FreeQuit does

FreeQuit supports you in reflecting on habits, tracking your progress, keeping a journal and using exercises in difficult moments. The scope of features may evolve over time.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not use FreeQuit for unlawful purposes.
• Do not access other users' accounts or data.
• Do not attempt to circumvent security measures, disrupt the app or scrape it automatically.
• Do not attempt to obtain access to paid features without a valid membership.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its texts, exercises, graphics and design are protected by copyright. You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use FreeQuit for your personal purposes for as long as these terms are complied with.

8. Your content

Content you create yourself — in particular journal entries, notes and reflections — remains your content. We claim no rights to it and do not analyse it for other purposes. This free text is not transmitted to our servers; details are set out in the privacy policy.

9. Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service. Maintenance, technical faults or changes may temporarily limit availability. The app works offline in substantial parts.

10. Membership

Using FreeQuit requires a paid membership. There is one membership tier with a term of one month. It is purchased as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store.

The current price is shown to you in the app in your currency before you purchase. The price displayed by the App Store is always the one that applies.

Your entitlement is bound to your FreeQuit account: it belongs to the account that the Apple transaction was linked to. One Apple membership therefore does not unlock multiple FreeQuit accounts. If you sign in with a different FreeQuit account, that account needs its own membership.

11. Free trial

If Apple determines that your Apple ID is eligible and the corresponding offer is available in the App Store, you can try FreeQuit free for 7 days. Eligibility is determined solely by Apple; the app only shows a trial when Apple confirms it.

If you do not cancel during the trial, it converts into the paid membership at the end of the trial period.

12. Automatic renewal

The membership renews automatically for a further month at a time unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged within 24 hours before the start of the new period.

13. Cancellation

You can cancel the membership at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. FreeQuit cannot cancel an Apple membership on your behalf. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

From within the app you can open the Apple settings directly and restore your purchases through Apple.

14. Refunds and withdrawal

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are also subject to the terms and mandatory consumer rights applicable to the relevant App Store transaction. Apple processes payment and refunds for App Store purchases. Where a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation applies, it may be exercised in accordance with the Apple terms applicable to the transaction and mandatory law. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Refund requests are therefore directed to Apple. If you are unsure how to proceed, write to us at support@freequit.app — we will help, even though we cannot process the refund ourselves.

15. Termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the settings. Deleting your FreeQuit account does not automatically end an existing Apple subscription — cancel it separately in your Apple ID subscription settings if you no longer need it.

We may suspend or terminate an account in the event of serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

16. Third-party services

For operation, sign-in and billing we use third-party services, currently Supabase and Apple. Their own terms apply to their services. The privacy policy sets out what data is processed in this context.

17. Not a medical service

FreeQuit is a self-help and behaviour-change app. It is not medical treatment, not psychotherapy and not addiction treatment. It does not diagnose, does not cure and promises neither abstinence nor protection against relapse. It does not replace medical, psychotherapeutic or addiction-medicine care. Details are set out in the medical notice.

18. Safety and emergencies

FreeQuit is not an emergency service and not a crisis hotline. If you believe you or others are in danger, contact your local emergency number or the nearest emergency department immediately.

Safety and emergency information is accessible in the app regardless of whether you have an active membership.

19. Liability

We are liable in accordance with statutory provisions, in particular for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. You are responsible for how you use the app and for the decisions you make on the basis of it. Mandatory statutory liability provisions remain unaffected.

20. Changes to the service and these terms

We may develop the scope of features further and adapt these terms, for example when features change or the legal situation changes. In the event of material changes we inform you in the app and, where necessary, ask you to agree again. If you do not wish to agree to a material change, you can delete your account and cancel your membership with Apple.

21. Governing law

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of habitual residence, and the courts available to you there, remain unaffected.
